The Impact of EasyStand Standing Aids

At EasyStand, we personally hear the many stories of how our standing aids have impacted people’s lives. From the EasyStand Evolv to the EasyStand Glider, we’ve been responsible for helping individuals with disabilities or mobility issues to stand and move more easily. We’re proud to have played a part in improving the quality of life for so many people, whether that’s by increasing their independence, reducing pain and discomfort, or simply allowing them to participate more fully in daily activities. Here are some of those stories.

EasyStand Evolv Helps Stroke Survivor Stand

In 2016, Chris, a Kentucky University college American footballer, suffered a stroke the summer before his junior year, leaving him wheelchair-bound and unable to stand. However, after over two years of hard work, he was able to stand using the EasyStand Evolv on the field of his home team stadium in front of the whole crowd. The ceremony brought a touching jubilation witnessed by his friends, family and the rest of his team. Head coach Mark Stoops said, “You have a tendency to feel down or disgruntled or — that’s real adversity. He’s facing it head-on. I’m sure there are ups and downs. I know there is. But we all can learn a little bit from that.”

EasyStand Glider Restores Normality at the Gym

Sonny had been living with a spinal cord injury for seven years before he was introduced to the EasyStand Glider. “The first time I had seen it, it drew my attention right away. I saw it in the corner of the gym and I was like “oh, what’s that?” From that point on I made it a part of my daily routine.” He was injured in a diving accident and wheelchair-bound until the Glider provided him with the necessary weight-bearing and support to be able to stand. He has seen improvements in cardiovascular and respiratory function and has finally been able to exercise the bottom half of his body. “It makes your body feel whole,” he said.

EasyStand at Work

Tyler works at a computer desk and suffered from sitting fatigue caused by not being able to stand. Now equipped with the EasyStand, he’s able to stand independently during his work day so that he can relax his glutes and strengthen his leg muscles in the meantime. “Having the chance to take two or more breaks to stretch out means I don’t feel as fatigued or as tight at the end of the day,” he says.
